having grown up in 'the word' in a very loving and normal family, certain aspects of the truth never really sat right with me.
as an impressionable 17 year old, the things i was learning during my study seemed bizarre & in many ways, just not right.
but i swallowed it all eventually.

I agree with this, if you believe the story they way he died was horrible, but what was 30 or so hours of pain in comparison to then going to heaven for eternity and being next to god? He didn't really die, so yea, where was the sacrifice? A soldier that jumps on a hand grenade to save a few of his friends makes an infinitely bigger sacrifice.

it really bothered me, particularly when listening to the survivors talk about the amount of control exerted over them; they were afraid, terrified, couldn't just walk away, family members were snitching on each other, families were split up in the end, tugged out of arms, they were well dressed seemingly happy people who were clapping and cheering until you looked in their eyes.. the similarities with the jws isstaggering.

they wouldn't commit a mass suicide - no, I still think the deaths from refusing blood, depression and the lives ruined as just as bad though, if not worse when you consider the larger scale of the WT compared to John Jones' cult.
Judge Dread - I have no idea how much longer they would have lived for sure, but people should have the right to at least try and live. There is no basis for banning blood in the bible, it's just an embarrasing rule from the WT past that they can't reverse because too many people have already died because of it.

Vacinactions and organ transplants - none, I'm only mid-20's.
I know of 2 people that died by not taking blood when they needed to and also 2 people that killed themselves due to depression and the WT forbidding people to get 'outside' help.
for me...if he's kind and considerate, dresses nice, have a nice smile, lot's of humor and is a good kisser.

dread - they do though, not as obviously but how many commit suicide by not taking blood, or in the past by refusing vacinations or organ transplants - it's all suicide.
